Cruisin' For The Cure 2001 - October 7 - Sanford Well, at 9:00 am, it looked like rain, but I said "What the hell, won't be the first time I get wet." I headed over to the Orlando Ale House to find only one guy from our group waiting. I thought we were going to be the only ones going. As it was approaching 9:15 (our set time to ride out), two more guys showed up. We headed up I-4 to Sanford. When we got there, we saw a few bikes, but not what we were expecting. We asked around to see what the plan would be for the day. Also, not what we expected. We were hoping for a nice group ride, but that wasn't going to be the case. After you paid the $35, they gave you a map with directions, and you were on your own. I suggested we hang on to our cash, and ride somewhere else, since it was just going to be us riding anyway. It was agreed, and I led us through some backroads over to New Smyrna Beach. It was a nice ride, through some Florida countryside. Farms, pastuers, cows, horses, etc. We stopped in at New Smyrna Harley Davidson, then headed over to Shell's to grab a bite only to find they weren't open yet. We headed over to the beach and checked it out, then decided we would keep riding up the coast to Daytona Beach. We got to Daytona Beach and ate at the Shell's there. After lunch, we cruised down main street, and then came home. It was a beautiful day, the weather held out for us all day and couldn't have been better. Since we didn't really stop a lot, I didn't get many photos, but check them out. See you all next time, Rob |
